Tutorial: Pink Smokey Eye

Smokey eye is just one of those looks I'm absolutely obsessed with! It's pretty easy and any color of lipstick can be used with it, although I personally prefer nudes lips. I hope you like the tutorial :-)

Step 1: Primer

The very first step is to prime your face. The main purpose of using a primer is that it makes your makeup last all day. I used Mac Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage.

Step 2: Smokey Eye

To achieve the smokey eyes, you need to coat your eye lid with a black khol eye pencil. I used Bourjois eye pencil for mine. Then I applied a Black matte eyeshadow over it. To achieve a smokey effect, apply a brown/maple shade on the crease and blend upwards. I have such a tiny eye lid it's annoying!

I went on to apply pink eyeshadow with a bit of gold eyeshadow. I also applied sleek black eyeshadow underneath my waterline.

TIP: To prevent color from fading and give your lids a more shimmery finish, pat a cream shadow over the lid first, wait five minutes, then top with a matching powder shadow.

Step 3: Foundation

I used Mac Studio fix NC50.

Step 4: Highlighting and Contouring

To highlight, you would need a foundation 10% lighter than your foundation. Same goes for Contouring, use a foundation 10% darker than your normal foundation and blend all together.  After this, set your face with your desired loose powder.  I used Mary Kay foundation for my highlighting and contouring. Ben Nye banana powder was used to set my highlight. I then used Mac Dark Deep Mineraize powder to set the rest of the face.

As for the lips you can use any colour that you desire.

Blush : Mac Ambering rose

Contouring: Sleek Contour Kit

Lip: Mac Teddy Velvet.

Give this a try ladies. Your comments and opinions will be much appreciated.

Have a nice day
