Hello Dolls,
As someone that makes up literally everyday, I usually find that the last thing I thing to do is clean my makeup bag. It's so easy to forget how important it is to make sure where we store our makeup products should always be kept clean. I have witnessed some ladies pull out their makeup bag in public and the smell that comes out of it is *sigh*...... And some wonder why they keep having breakouts on their faces!
I am one of those guilty ones that's so clumsy that when my powder falls and break, because of how much I've spent on it, I literally pack up the broken pieces back into the palette and this eventually causes a huge mess inside my makeup bag. Another item that I find messes up my makeup bag is lipsticks. The lids tend to come off and when this happens, the lipsticks break or stains other makeup items in the bag.
- Step 1 - Start by emptying out your makeup bag onto the table and be a little brutal. Have you had that lip gloss for too long? Has your favorite powder shattered to cause a mess in your makeup bag? And has your favorite lipstick melted beyond belief? Well if that's the case, it's probably time to update and get rid of these items. If you really don't want to let to of the shattered powder, what you can do is spray alcohol on it and merge all the broken pieces together, I find this works, but you would still need to be extra careful.
- Step 2- Organize your makeup accordingly. I know this is quite obvious, but some ladies don't bother with it. An organised makeup bag will not only make it easy to find items in your makeup bag, it also reduces the risk of mess occurring. Now to organise, get rubber bands. With rubber bands you can put all your lipsticks, eyeliners, lip gloss and others separately. It's probably not the cutest way, but I find it works for me.
- Step 3 - Ask your self if you need to change your makeup bag? Is your makeup really outdated and over used? Is it too big or is it too small? If it's been over used and has too many lipstick stains on it, it's probably best you wash it, if it's machine friendly, stick it into the washing machine or you may just hand wash it and leave it to air dry. Cleanliness they say is next to Godliness. If its too big, you would probably need to go buy a smaller makeup bag. If it's too small, you would find that your makeup routine takes way longer because you have to probably empty out your makeup bag every time you want to get something out of it, so it's probably wise to get a bigger makeup bag.
I hope you found this post useful! How do you organise your makeup bag? Feel free to share and I'm sure this will help others :-).
