Rounded Vs Pointed Foundation Brushes

Hello Dolls,

I was applying foundation earlier, so I thought why not do a review on the two most popular types of foundation brushes.

Also, I recently dumped my pointed foundation brush for the round foundation brush, please continue reading to find out the reasons why!

Pointed Foundation Brush

There are various brands of foundation brushes out there, but a typical flat top foundation brush looks like the one in the above picture.

I loved this brush so much, but the annoying thing about the brush however were the streaks it left on my face after applying foundation.

I decided to apply foundation with the flat brush and the picture above was the result. Some of you might not notice, but if you look closely you would see streaks caused by the brush. The application also looks uneven. Some parts of my face look lighter than other parts.

This makes my foundation application routine longer because I have to apply more foundation to even it out,  but sometimes I notice by doing this, it makes my face look like I packed on too much foundation (*sigh*), making my makeup look really heavy and unnatural.

I also have to blend out the foundation well to get rid of the streaks, so If I'm in a rush, I give up applying makeup altogether partly because of these reasons.

The advantage I find about the brush however is that it's really easy to get to corners of my face like under my eyes, sides of my nose and neck area, Hence why it's pointed I guess (lol).

Round Foundation Brush

Words can't explain how much I love this brush. Foundation application looks way more natural with no streaks (yipee!). This brush makes my foundation routine way more faster, it's way more easier to blend and comes out flawless.

The Brush looks like it will soak foundation right?, but not at all. The brush is synthetic, so the foundation stays on the tip, making it easier to control the amount you apply on your face.

As you can see from the picture above, the difference is clear, as this gives a flawless finish. When using this brush, you apply foundation in a circular motion, that way, there'll be absolutely no streaks left on your face.

Apart from the gorgeous feel of this brush on my skin, the disadvantage is that it cannot get to corners of my face.

So ladies I would advice you get the two brushes. The round brush for applying foundation on your face and pointed for the corners. If you find streaks on those corners, just the pat on gently with your pointed brush to get rid of those streaks.

If however you cannot afford to get the two, I'll advice you get the round brush.

Foundation application is really vital hence why it's called foundation (lol), If the foundation application is not flawless, then no way the finished look can be flawless altogether.

There you have it, my personal opinion on the two most popular types of foundation brushes.
