Office Makeup Tips

multiculturalbeauty.com

Hello Beautiful people,

I usually get emails from my fellow beautiful ladies requesting various beauty tips. This blog post is one of the most requested ones, so here goes.

It's no news that most mornings especially here in Lagos, there is always a mad dash to make it to work on time mostly due to the famous Lagos traffic. Meaning, you might end up looking less flawless and more flustered.

I hope this seven makeup tips for the office will ensure you arrive looking gloriously refreshed and ready for the day.

1. Natural

This might seem like the most obvious of my face beat tips for the office, but keep it natural. There is a time and place for full on smokey eye and Ruby Woo lip (LOL), the office is not that place.

It's very important to look polished and professional at work. The right right look would create the right impression and help ensure that people take you more seriously.

It's obvious, but the more makeup you wear, the longer it's going to take you to get ready.

2.  Flawless Skin

First things first; It’s good to get into a skincare routine – A gentle exfoliator and a moisturizer is a good place to start to give you a radiant skin.

If you have clear skin anyway, just stick to a touch of concealer or if in case you want more coverage, choose a light-reflecting foundation and apply evenly with a brush. The end result should be light and fresh.

3. Eyes

You want to make your eyes pop, but there’s a big difference between day and night time eyes. For the office, start by sweeping a natural eyeshadow colour over your lids; maybe beige, a brown or a blush pink. Add a little eyeliner in the corners of each eye, especially black to waken up your eyes.

4. Lashes

Long lashes will really open up your eyes, especially if you’re really tired; apply layers of mascara – work from the root out and wiggle!

For those especially early mornings, add a little white eyeliner on the inner rims, on the outer corner.

5. Lips

This depends on whether you’d prefer to emphasise your eyes or lips.

If it’s your eyes, then go for a more natural lip – you could stick to a clear gloss, a nude or a light pink. If you prefer to highlight your lips, red lipstick can still be worn in the workplace, especially if it’s your signature look.

6. Blush

All that’s left is to apply a little blush, Just to give your cheeks a rosy glow. You could add some highlighter to emphasise your cheekbones too.

To save time (and money), most make-up brands sell multitasking products now, so you could use the product for both your blush and your lipstick, then just pop it in your bag for retouches during the long work day (*wink*).

7. Speedy

That should be your basic make-up routine; once you’re happy with it, stick to it.

If you follow this, you should only be using a maximum of six make-up products for your office look. Clear out all the empty tubes and out-of-date products you never use anymore, then when you come to your make-up bag in the morning, everything will be easy to find.

Well, this is the make-up routine I follow every morning when I'm in a hurry, and I hope it gives you some ideas too.

What are your make-up tips for the office? Do you have any tips for even-speedier routines?

Have a nice day
